About Me

Hi, I'm Brittney Porter, a freshman at the Daytona Beach campus of  Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. I am originally from South Lyon, a small town located in the suburbs of Detroit, MI. Although I have spent my entire life in South Lyon, travel is an important part of my life. I have traveled to 5 different countries with my family over the past 8 years. Spending time and making memories with my family is extremely valuable to me. Travel has educated me on the ways of the world and has supplied me with an independent personality as well as a love for aviation.

My experience as a National Honor Society member at my high school has also taught me the importance of others and the positive effect that one can have on their community through the smallest of actions. Friends are also meaningful to my life; I have made the majority of my friends through sports. I played softball for 11 years and was on the softball team at South Lyon High School for four years. My teammates have become my closest friends and I have also made friends with the siblings of my teammates.

I am eager to continue my studies in Aeronautical Science at ERAU and ultimately fulfill my passion of travel and become an airline pilot. I worked diligently for two summers to obtain my Private Pilot License and am currently training for my Instrument Rating at ERAU.
